Young Maiden's Day Book - Entry Twenty

Today… January 4, 2010

Outside my window… There isn't an open window in view. How sad!!!

I am thinking… about Valerie coming this evening!

I am thankful for… A billion things. God's answered so many prayers! My Christina is staying, Val is here safe and sound, Marmy's having a baby... and life is WONDERFUL! Praise the Lord!

I am wearing… A maroon-ish long-sleeve with gathered seams and built-in pink undershirt and my four-tier brown skirt. I have on a large brown headband and some brass earrings that Christina let me wear that say "Love" on them.

I am reading…
This year I'm going with a new approach. I'm limiting myself to only one fiction and one non-fiction book at a time. I'm also limiting my Bible studies to one in the OT, one in the NT, and one topical...
Anyways...

Non-fiction:
John Calvin Biography from Vision Forum

Fiction:
Love's Enduring Promise by Janette Oke

Old Testament:
Proverbs

New Testament:
Matthew with MacArthur Study Notes

Topical Study:
"The Truth War" by Dr. John MacArthur

I am creating… cookbook, fun writing project, blogs, graphics, journals and a website. (By the way, I finished that campaign website: www.geraldwall2010.com ... yay!)

One of my favorite things…
are new babies. I can't WAIT to hold the new baby. *happy dance*

For education this week… Wednesday McCauley and Jasco are also taking the final from last semester. Aaaaand... I'm trying to order curriculum for anatomy...

A keeper at home skill I am using… studying, writing, organization, scheduling, cleaning, mending, cooking, letter-writing, child-care, money management, baking, lesson planning and hospitality. (Val's coming today!!! =)

A spiritual lesson I’m learning… is to trust God's sovereignty and *know* that He answers prayers.

A godly character trait I plan to work on… is to be completely encouraging in my speech. Also to be completely patient in God's timing instead of complaining.

Scripture I am memorizing…

I have a terrible memory. I'm going to get Titus 1 back down pat and then try Titus 2 again! I will! I will! (And if I can't, I shall work on James. I was really interested in memorizing that a few weeks ago.)

I am praying for… well, most of my prayer has just been thanking God for all of the answered prayers! But I am praying for our brothers and sisters in persecuted countries, the eye surgery of dear Miss Katy, and the health of dear Miss Zara.

For the rest of the week… Embryology, writing, reading, bookclub, cleaning, babysitting?, ice skating, and VALERIE!!!

A picture I’d like to share…

Here's to more fun times and great pictures!!!

Christ's blessings,
