Today… October 19, 2009
Outside my window… A full view! The RV is being fixed up, which means it had to be torn down to the frame because the floor had to be replaced. So, for now I have a lovely, full view of the neighborhood! I see green trees that absolutely refuse to turn. I see an open, blue sky holding several large, white clouds. I see the little, red Church across the street. I see the field beside it, soon to be overtaken by the neighborhood boys who like a good after-school football game. I see an acorn tree, sprinkling the nuts as the wind rustles through the leaves. And finally, I see the bright sun that is holding our afternoon in Summer temperatures.... this morning was nice and cold though. There's still hope. =)
I am thinking… about my gigantic todo list!!!
I am thankful for… little cousins. Especially a certain little three-foot-tall cousin with cute little pigtails and a sweet-tooth.
I am wearing… my red Dr Pepper logo shirt with a calf-length denim skirt edged with white lace and white, lacy shoes. My hair is in a twisted half-pony, secured by a red bow. It actually matches, though it doesn't sound like it.
I am reading…
Many different Bible passages,
"John Calvin - Man of the Millennium" by Philip Vollmer,
"So Much More" by Ana Sophia and Elizabeth Botkin,
"Making Brothers and Sisters Best Friends" by Sarah, Stephan and Grace Malley,
"Home Making" by J.R. Miller,
"The Princess Adelina" by Julie Sutter,
"Answers Magazine" (latest issue) by Answers in Genesis,
"What He Must Be" by Pastor Voddie Bachaum (2nd time in a row!),
"Do Hard Things" by Alex and Brett Harris (2nd time),
and "A Journey in Grace" by Richard Belcher (2nd time).
I am creating… a surprise for someone! (Can't tell yet, sorry!) Also, lesson plans, schedules, and I recently turned a large dress into a garden apron! (I just couldn't give up those large pockets! The material is pretty as well...)
One of my favorite things… is Christian Fellowship.
For education this week… today McCauley and I did a sign-language lesson. I also need to finish grading, and then begin working on Wednesday's lecture. Tomorrow I'll hopefully finish Wednesday's lecture and quiz, and then begin on next weeks. Wednesday I'm teaching McCauley and Jasco a science lesson about plant ecology. Mommy-college is probably cancelled Thursday. (Boo... I wanted to sit the W family, but it looks like they may not need me this week!) I'll probably get started on the next week's science. Friday will be a day-long teacher's work day. Saturday and Sunday are sure to hold educational surprises! And, of course, don't forget working on web design all week, as well as Bible study. I'm sure I'll learn some more homekeeping skills throughout the week!
A keeper at home skill I am using… studying, writing, organization, scheduling, cleaning, mending, cooking, letter-writing, child-care, cross-stitching, calligraphy, and lesson planning. =)
A spiritual lesson I’m learning… is to always be joyful and radiant!
A godly character trait I plan to work on… To not always think I must speak my mind. Inspired by Proverbs 17:27-28. This goes hand in hand with being joyful and radiant! (Yes, I know this has been my character trait & spiritual trait for a while - but it really is a continual and conscious focus of mine.)
Scripture I am memorizing…
Titus 2
2 Timothy 3:16
1 Peter 3:3-4
Proverbs 12:1
Yes... still. I love this Day Book because it reminds me not to neglect my memorization work. Great accountability.
I am praying for… an abundance of joy that I can't help but spread... continuously. (Yep! Again!)
For the rest of the week… writing curriculum, making lesson plans, creating worksheets...... preparation for school! In addition to school, my week is peppered with a ton of errand running, cleaning, more fall decorating (yay!), and a TON of letter/email replies that I need to get to!

A picture I’d like to share…
Daddy took a photo of McCauley, Jasco and I in an interesting little brick boat that was in the landscaped sidewalk of a strand in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I'm in the back, Jasco's in the middle, and McCauley is closest to the camera. Behind us, ( far left) in the photo, is the Chattanooga Aquarium, which we were walking to at the time. The Aquarium was simply amazing...
